Out of hours work on the arena and hotel site

Work on arena and hotel site, 2 February 2026

We have been advised by McLaren of upcoming out of hours work on the arena site – please see below:

Dear Residents,

This is a courtesy letter to inform you of upcoming scheduled out of hours work on our site. As you may be aware, we need to commence concrete pouring and power floating as
part of our programmed works.

Power floating is a concrete finishing method used to produce a smooth, level, and durable surface. It is carried out after the concrete has been poured and has begun to set, but before full curing.

Because timing is critical, pours are generally scheduled during core working hours (8:00–18:00, Monday to Friday). In colder weather, concrete may require extended curing times, which can push power floating works into the early morning hours.

While every effort is made to avoid afternoon pours, this is not always feasible, and such activities are included within the Section 61 application approved by Cardiff City Council.

Power floating can only take place once the concrete has reached the appropriate set, therefore, power floating activities need to be completed outside of core hours.

These works are due to commence on Thursday 05/02/2026.

We will aim to minimise disruption as much as possible.

We thank you for your patience and ongoing support as we progress with project delivery.
